I thought this was a good fun family film, kind of a “King Kong” goes good guy. There is a lot of action, destruction, obvious & accessible jokes, over the top acting, & unbelievable situations like “Davis Okoye” walking through the streets of downtown Chicago destruction everywhere, buildings falling down around him & “Davis” gets a scratch on this temple. I typically see this kind of“Disbelief” in every single Tom Cruise film. Dwayne Johnson (Davis Okoye), is every bit as good of an actor as Tom Cruise, but in a more likable way.
Naomie Harris “Dr. Kate Caldwell” is a strikingly attractive woman, in an Unusual for Hollywood move, there is only a 4 year difference in the Lead Male & Lead Female love interest !!!!! Making this almost believable. I will mention a few things I like about the film I liked 1. Baby Gorilla’s are cute 2. The powers that be in charge, really do only care about how much money they can get & everything else can suffer, ironic thing about this film, this is the most accurate part of the film & 90% of the viewers will overlook this science fact. 3. Marley Shelton “Dr. Kerry Atkins” in the beginning of the film.
As I do watch “The Walking Dead” I couldn’t help but mull over the fact, not only did they put ”Negan” (Jeffery Dean Morgan) in this film to get more attendees, the Producers actually have Morgan as a watered down version of “Negan” I wonder if in 10 years from now when this film is one the “On Demand” selections will people get Morgn’s “Negan” swag & and delivery out of place from“The Walking Dead”
I myself am in the filming stages of a “Local Film” titled “Guns of the Apocalypse” due out in Oct 2018, a Sci-Fi- Western, set in the past & the future. Then this Summer I will be in another “Local Film” titled “Good Runner” about a bad-luck car, which is more of my “Real Life” than I can to acknowledge. In closing, if you have kids & you like simple action movies, this is the film for you!
